Exciting news! ‘Sonder’ will be making its big debut in Berlin later this month, with an exclusive premiere screening, a presentation, a panel session, and more.
It’s all happening from June 19-21 at Unite Berlin, a major international conference for artists, filmmakers, game developers and other creators who work with Unity.
Here’s what you need to know.
First, our writer/director Neth Nom and producer Sara K. Sampson will present the film to audiences for the very first time. Immediately following the screening, Neth and Sara will be joined by our shading and lighting tools lead Jean Moreno for a presentation on the making of ‘Sonder’ and an audience Q&A. Here’s the official description of our session:
Tuesday, June 19, 3:30-5pm
Don't miss the Exclusive Premiere of this gorgeous real-time animated film about love and loss. The talented team brings us pne step closer to a future where viewers can no longer distinguish between a film that was made using the traditional production pipeline of Hollywood veterans and one that was created in real time using Unity. Come join writer/director Neth Nom and producer Sara Sampson as they unpack the process they used, the lessons learned, and offer advice for aspiring filmmakers. (This session includes a screening of the unreleased short film, so come early to grab a seat!)
But wait—there’s more!
The next day, Sara will participate in a morning panel discussion about the growing usage of game platforms in non-game projects:
Wednesday, June 20, 9:45-10:45am
Much like the industrial revolution changed manufacturing for every industry around the world, games tech is poised to transform the way we build, design and experience all forms and formats of technology. During this discussion, Unity will be joined onstage by innovators from the worlds of automotive, entertainment, medical, retail, and of course, games to discuss how far games technology is now reaching beyond its core market.
This all goes down at STATION-Berlin, a huge event space in the heart of the city. If you’re attending Unite, come say hello, learn about our production, and be one of the first people in the world to see ‘Sonder.’
We’ll see you in Berlin!
